Alright, everything was going smoothly until now. I got an A- in opera, big deal. The B+ in genetics knocks it out. However..... HOW THE HECK DID I GET A B IN SPEECH?
Here's the email I sent to my speech professor about it:
Dear Dr. Hastings,
I would like to discuss with you how I
recieved the grade I did in your class as my final average. According
to myucf I have a "B" and I'd like to know how exactly I got this
grade. I rummaged all of my paperwork from the class this semester and
I'm puzzled how my grade dipped. This is what I have:

I was unable to find my paper for
my informative speech, but I believe the grade was a 48 or 49. Please
correct me if I am in the wrong for this grade. By doing the
calculations (assuming I got a 48 on my informative speech), I insofar
have 270.5 points out of a possible 294 (there seems to be 6 points'
worth of assignments I cannot seem to find to add up to 300 prior to
the final exam). Now by adding in 3% of 350 (as I recieved the "Most
Organized Speaker" Award), which comes out to 10.5
I now have 281 points out of a possible 294. Being but 17 points away
from having the maximum amount of points for the class before the final
exam, I am most perplexed as to how poorly I must have done on the
final exam in order to drop so low.
My questions are as follows: Where are the last 6 assignment points? Also, what did I get on my final that dropped me so low?
I
am terribly confused. This has been the first time in my academic
career that I feel like something's not calculated right, but I would
like to recieve your input as to how I was graded. I truly enjoyed your
class and I'm a bit surprised how it ended like this.
I was absent for 2 classes and late by roughly 5 minutes for a third, so I know I didn't lose 5% for absences.
Thank you in advance for your time clarifying all of this.
Sincerely,
Daryl Balluff
This is seriously messed up. I was guaranteed an A in this class. What happened?
Some happy birthday...
